Specialty Extracts Laboratory Officially Launched: Laying the Foundation for Natura’s Innovation-Driven Growth
Indika Nature, through its subsidiary PT Natura Aromatik Nusantara (Natura), officially inaugurated the Specialty Extracts Laboratory on Thursday, 22 January 2026, at INDY Bintaro Office Park. The establishment of this laboratory marks an important milestone in Indika Nature’s journey to strengthen its research and development (R&D) capabilities, particularly in high value-added extract products, or specialty extracts, tailored to Business-to-Business (B2B) needs.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Leonardus Herwindo, CEO of Indika Nature and President Director of Natura; Retina Rosabai, President Commissioner of Natura; Agus Erhan, Commissioner of Natura; Lion Kraaijbeek, CEO of Natura; Arief Baharsan, President Director of PT Indy Properti Indonesia; as well as representatives from Indy Properti Indonesia and Indika Nature employees.
Natura is part of Indika Nature and focuses on the development of essential oils derived from various plants, including patchouli, clove, and other aromatic commodities. The Specialty Extracts Laboratory is designed to complement Natura’s existing laboratory facilities in Solo, expanding its development focus to specialty extracts—such as coffee extracts—through a more applied, structured, and industry-oriented approach.
Functionally, the laboratory serves as an enabler to accelerate sample development, conduct controlled trials, and facilitate co-development collaborations with customers. Supported by disciplined workflows and adequate facilities, Natura, through this Specialty Extracts Laboratory, aims to deliver products with more specific and consistent flavor and aroma profiles, tailored to the requirements of various industrial applications.
Through the strengthening of technical capabilities and product innovation, Leonardus Herwindo, CEO of Indika Nature and President Director of Natura, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to enhancing value creation across the value chain while driving sustainable, nature-based business growth. “With the inauguration and commencement of operations of Natura’s Specialty Extracts Laboratory, we are committed to delivering added value in every product we develop—particularly specialty extracts that meet our customers’ needs—and, as part of Indika Nature, to further support the growth of nature-based solution businesses,” said Leonardus.
Retina Rosabai, President Commissioner of Natura, also shared her expectations for the newly inaugurated Specialty Extracts Laboratory. “With the official opening of Natura’s Specialty Extracts Laboratory, the facility can now begin operations and produce samples for customers. We expect this laboratory to accelerate the sales of Natura’s specialty extracts and ultimately contribute to revenue growth,” she stated.
